After consulting your health, lifestyle and possible genetic diseases in detail, the TCM doctor will combine the diagnosis of tongue and pulse to decide which treatment method to use.
Pulse diagnosis: TCM doctors use the index finger, middle finger and ring finger to feel the pulse in three different areas on the left and right wrists. In conventional medicine, the level of pulse is not a measurement. According to traditional Chinese medicine, there are 32 forms of pulse (thin, string-shaped, trembling, etc.).TCM doctors understand the position of excess or lack of energy in the patient’s body through pulse diagnosis, and use corresponding treatment methods.
Tongue diagnosis: TCM doctors identify the shape, color and texture of the tongue (red, pale, thick, thin, swollen, etc.) and the color of the tongue coating (yellow, white, brown, etc.). The tongue is an important indicator to determine the energy and quality of individual organs.
In the process of acupuncture, acupuncture triggers different sensations in the body. Acupuncture may cause short-term pain, and there may be touch sensitivity in some cases. The intensity of this “needle” varies from different individuals.
A course of treatment is usually 10-12 times, twice a week, and each treatment takes about 45-65 minutes. The number of treatments will be increased if necessary.
